Our new little zendo, named Plum Blossom Zendo, celebrated its first year anniversary in January. It's been a satisfying project for me. It was a lot of work just getting it started. But the careful planning we did ahead of time, plus a wonderful group of people who have become members and volunteers, as well as our teacher, have made this a success . We have also gotten a lot of support from our mother organization,the Zen Community of Oregon. I am glad that our zendo has given the public a place to practice dharma here in Vancouver, Washington.
We will be moving in April to a larger space in a local church. The church is very happy to have us there and we will be involved in helping them with their charitable work.
I am so glad that I kept nagging the Zen Community of Oregon's Board to help us get going. And we are truly on our way!
